Cultural Document

For my cultural document, I chose an interview off youtube with the octuplet mother. The reason I chose this documentation is because it shows a lot about the culture we live in. In the interview Nadya (the mother) says that she just wishes everyone would stick to their own lives and business and not worry about her and her extremely large family. Everyone can agree that what she has chosen for her lifestlye is defintely out of the ordinary and that is why we the Amerian culture and society are so wrapped up in it. In the case of Nadya and her fourteen kids I would have to say they have been exploited. She is all over the media. This case also faces a sense of powerlessness because Nadya (the mother) has no money and no husband. Although, Nayda claims the help of friends and family will be enough. Nadya's mother claims that she is incapable, but Nadya strongly disagrees. All we can do now is wait and see if she is indeed successful in raising her fourteen children.
