To William Zanzinger

Dear William Zanzinger, 2/4/09

The reason that I am writing this letter to you is because your actions as a human being are repulsive. You walk around thinking you are better then everyone and that clearly isn’t the case. I want you to realize that your actions and attitude toward people will not be accepted nor will they be tolerated anymore by you or anyone. We as a society need to change our ways and stand together so that people like you will not get away with things like murder, racism, and ignorance.
Hattie Carroll a mother of eleven and an educated women trying to make a living and give her kids a better life. Then on the night of February 9, 1963 her life was taken from her prematurely. After that because of your last name and all your families’ money you stand in front of a judge with no remorse on your face, and you get a bullshit prison sentence of six months. Something in our society needs to change, and I believe that something needs to be racism.
Granted we as a society has grown since your atrocious action took place, yet that growth has not been nearly enough to stop violence like this from happening. Everyday they’re always people stereotyping and judging other individual just because the color or their skin, what colts they wear, what gender they our, and their sexually. During my English class we discussed how racism is everywhere in our daily lives. It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to get a job or applying for school, racism affects it all. Racism is not only applied when trying to get a head in life, but it also affects people when violence is provoked by it. There has been millions of story when people have been beaten just from being different by ignorant people like you Mr. Zanzinger.
I believe that racism will always exist, because of uneducated people like you. It all depends on how much racism we will allow to exist. When people become educated and learn how wrong racism is I really believe it will change their ways. It all starts at home front with your parents Mr. Zanzigner. Your parents probably learn from their parents and so on and so on, that being different is not acceptable. That couldn’t be more wrong. You can still over come racist ways, even if your family is racist. You can open your mind and surrounded yourself with all different races, and learned for yourself that it’s what is inside a person that counts instead of outside. I know you won’t like everyone that you meet, but if you take a chance to talk to them you can judge them on their personality not on what they look like. Educating yourself to accepting people for what’s in the inside is how you can change our society, however long it mite take I believe change will happen.
People like you might think that this will never happen and its one person’s opinion, but change is already amongst us. Electing an African-American as the President of the Unites States of America speaks volumes about this change. If that can happen I believe racism can become almost nonexistence one day. So I hope you enjoy watching this country become untied together and stand against all racism activity, because it will happen eventually.
From,
Matt Levaccare
