Cr 1

Dear Lucky Miller

I can relate to some of the observations you have on society. As you mentioned about how when you were younger it was peaches and creme, it was an easier life with no worries. As a child you live stress free with no obligations. You do not have to worry about school, work, and friends. Although, when you are older more conflicts arise and you have a busier life. Our society has changed since you were younger, Small businesses are not as popular as before. People rarely do their shopping at small convenient stores, they rather go to a supermarket where the prices are usually on sale. Those prices are usually unbeatable and forcing to beat out the small competitor store. The owners have to work long shifts like you said. I had a corner store right by house but had to close down because the owner was tired of working all day just to make a standard wage. The environment at a supermarket store is different than what you mentioned from Chris’s grocery store. I agree with your statement on how some people do not communicate with each other as much as they used to. I believe its due to people being to busy with chores in their daily lives. They don’t have time to stop and interact with the person next to them at the super market. The older you get the busier you are and have no time to waste on chatting. People would rather stay to themselves and just buy their merchandise and leave the store. Can it be due to fear? With violence and situations over the news it can be harder to trust the person next to you. Society has changed over the past years and will continue to transform and I agree the public is getting more impersonal.

Sincerely,

Oscar Vazquez
