The cultural document I chose to examine was a youtube clip called "Sudan: The Silent Genocide". The focus of the video is on Sudan, which is a country in Africa. It focuses on all of the unfortunate aspects of the country. Some of the horrendous things that happen within the country are burning villages, many slaughtered civilians, and mass rapes. The claim of the video is that media needs to make the world aware of the awful things that are happening in the undeveloped countries. The people in the video are reaching out for help from the developed world. Two of the biggest of IMY’s five phases of oppression are violence and powerlessness.
