Dear Miss America,

I have taken an interest in you and I have many questions I'd like to ask you. Do you realize

what is going on in the world? There are people dying everyday, are you aware of that? You

exploit yourself to get approval from others. You are supposed to be

representing our country, the land of the free and the brave and you walk down a runway and

your job is done. In a way you are just as bad as the homemakers in Studs Terkel. You don't

contribute to society in ways that truly matter. There is a picture of you over a war veteran,

that is about to be murdered just waving your hand in the air without a care in the world. In the

picture it shows his blood splattering on you, it is obvious you have two completely

different lives. You have a perfect untouched life and he has a painfully afflicted life. The man in

the picture looks powerless. If you have so much power, what are you planning on doing with it?

You constantly talk about wanting world peace. Do you have a plan to create peace for

our world because innocent people are dying everyday? The picture of you and the man about

to be shot appealed to many people's emotions. When I saw the picture I can honestly say it

made me angry because you seem to not know or care what is happening in the world at all. I

can't say for a fact that you don't care at all, but if you care, and say that you want world peace,

where is your plan to carry it out? Others were very upset about the picture, because maybe

someone they know and care about has died fighting for this country. Do you know or care about

someone that has been murdered? If so, then I think you should show that you care about more

than just being in a silly beauty pageant, and start caring about our country in regards to this

world and truly strive for real world peace.
